Rivers Gov. Nyesom Wike is leaving no stone unturned in his effort to position the south-south state for the 2023 presidential election.
Impeccable sources revealed the PDP governor has signed an MOU with a popular Twitter juggernaut that boasts of intercontinental track records in swaying opinions.
“I want Nigerians to know anybody who becomes president without winning in Rivers is illegitimate. INEC should retrieve his certificate,” said Wike while signing the contract in Port Harcourt on Friday.
President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC scarcely got 25 percent in Rivers during the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections in which INEC declared them winners.
And those readying to contest in the coming election appear to be concentrating on Lagos and Kano alone.
Wike thinks that’s stupid.
“Nigerians and the world must change their minds with this campaign. They have to be convinced the APC must win Rivers in 2023–or else…,” he said.
The campaign will, according to J.J Okanjuwa, the brain-twisting expert handling the project, target the APC, INEC, local and foreign election observers, the EU, the AU. Arewa Consultative Forum, Afenifere, Ohaneze, among others.
